FAQ
What is a health educator?
A health educator, also known as a health coach, provides guidance, support and motivation while
offering tools and strategies to achieve health and wellness goals.

Why do you need a health educator?
My academic background and work experience as a nurse and public health specialist has led me to
understand the consequences of unhealthy living. I look at the person as a whole and recognize that
health includes physical and emotional well being. Using a holistic approach I am able to deliver the kind
of one-on-one attention you need to set goals and create a plan for a healthy living as well as preventing
or managing diseases and their complications.

Do health educators replace doctors?
Absolutely not! Doctors evaluate, make diagnoses, and recommend courses of action for their patients.
However, they lack the time and counseling skills to be able to follow up with their patients on the
details of how to truly take charge of their health.

Is a private consultation or a group workshop right for me?
If you are looking for general health and nutrition guidance then the workshops offer a good foundation
to start you and your family on a healthy lifestyle. If, however, you have specific concerns or would like
an individually tailored health and nutrition plan then a counseling session may be right for you.
